Salik hails from Srinagar originally & is based in New Delhi. In a short period, Salik has become an instantly recognizable face in the modeling industry. He has become a choice of model for many designers because of his sharp feature & chiseled physique.

Tell us about your childhood, family & education

I was born and raised in Kashmir. My parents and relatives have always been supportive. Their support has helped me reach greater heights. I have completed my Bachelors in Business Administration from Delhi.

How did you get into modeling?

During my college years, everyone including my teachers and classmates encouraged me to become a model. All this motivated me to try my luck in modeling. Despite my tight academic schedule I managed to carve out time for my passion.

How did you get your first break in the industry?

I cracked several auditions, in the beginning. It helped me prepare and enter the fashion industry. Eventually, I was noticed by many top designers and casting directors around the country. Gradually, I established myself in the industry.

What are the main assignments you have done so far?

I have walked for India Fashion Week, Delhi Times Fashion Week, India Runway Week, etc. I have done numerous fashion shoots, Starting with the campaign for Siddharth Tytler,  Mind Magazine, Women’s Era Magazine, to Campaign for “Elysian Homme”. Along with all this, I have walked the ramp for several renowned brands like Van Huesen, Cantabil, Indian Terrain, FBB, Max, Reliance Trends, Mark and Spencer, and many more.

Dolce and Gabbana

Who is your favorite designer?

Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Siddharth Tytler

Do you have any role models?

I particularly don’t have any specific role model. I keep on learning different things from different people. I believe to be myself only and shaping up my personality in my way

What are your plans?

I am planning to do something great and bigger in life. I am looking for the best opportunities in the industry. I plan to try acting.  Also, I am thinking to open my gym in my hometown SRINAGAR.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Be yourself and be confident about yourself. Be limitless and keep hard work up always!
