Suhana Letka from Shimla won the coveted Himalayan Buzz Miss North India 2021 title. She is the gorgeous emerging model from Shimla and has already caught the eyes of the fashion industry. As a model, Suhana knows how to nail it. The moment the camera turns on, Suhana is there to give that unique and perfect shot.
Congratulations on winning Miss North India 2021. How are you enjoying your victory?
Thank you so much for your congratulations. I’m truly honored, grateful and blessed to have been given this title. Well, as it is said “Winning doesn’t always mean being first. Winning means you’re doing better than you’ve ever done before.” So, I certainly am enjoying this new journey of me being a better version of myself. And along with that, it has brought in so much positivity and happiness in me and around me. Every day is a new celebration and I’m living it to the fullest.
What was the first thought that came to your mind when they announced your name as the winner?
I am someone who believes in the virtue of gratitude and when my name was announced, the first thought that came into my mind was to thank the almighty to have given me all that confidence and hope that I needed to reassure that I am going to make it. And with that, I felt a sense of contentment and immense happiness.
How did your family and friends react to your victory?
I always feel that my family and friends have been the ultimate source of encouragement in whatever I do and they’ve been extremely supportive throughout. And I truly perceive that when I won, they won. Everyone is elated and is making every day more fun and celebratory and I could make out how proud they all were.
You can be honest about it, did you expect that win?
Well, yes. It’s always the belief that I have in myself that helps me put my best foot forward. And I never let that go off. I try and be as optimistic as possible and not let any disbelief overpower it. And when I do this, I know I’m going to be out to my utmost potential and it in itself is a win-win situation for me.
How was your experience during the Miss North India 2021 pageant?
It was an experience of a lifetime. Since the day I stepped in, I knew I was there for a reason and I for sure did not restrict myself from having all the fun it brought along. I saw myself grow every past day into a more stable and balanced person and made the best out of time.
All the finalists stayed together for a week, how was the bonding with other girls? Made any friends?
Ahh! It is said that to make a new friend is to bring new energy to your soul. And that’s exactly what happened. I made friends who I would say are more like sisters to me. We got along so well from the first very meeting we had. We helped each other out, talked about lives, shared thoughts and beliefs, danced our fears out together. So yes. I can very happily say that I made new friends.
Who was your biggest competition in Miss North India 2021?
I truly feel that’s I’ve always been my competition. Everyone who was there was the best in their ways, but I feel that my only competition was that when I walk out of that competition, I become better and I am satisfied with the efforts I made.
What do you think were the judges looking at while deciding the winners?
I feel It’s always the Confidence, Dedication, Focus, and most importantly how you value your resources and opportunities that help shape one’s personality and I feel this is what exactly the judges look for.
Did you always want to be a Model? If not a Model what would you be?
I’ve always wanted to be a model as far as I can remember. It’s something that I’m exceedingly passionate about. I’m pretty sure that I see myself as a mental health counselor alongside modeling because I’ve always been inclined towards understanding human nature and I also feel that it’s the need of the hour.
Who will you say is your idol or mentor?
I seek inspiration from people and situations. I’ve always been this way. Little things and thoughts inspire me in my everyday life. And someone who I wish to seek my strength and inspiration from in every situation is my grandfather. I idolize becoming a person like him and that’s when I’ll Know I’ve achieved everything in life.
Lastly, any message to all the aspiring girls who dream of being Miss North India?
“JUST DO IT”. Never let anything or anyone stop you from doing what you love. It’s not about winning a certain title but sometimes it’s more about coming out of your shell and experiencing what ‘winning in life’ feels like. “If you aspire to do it, you must persevere to do it.” is what I believe in and is what I would like to tell everyone.
