Chef Diwakar Dhawan, a native of Dehradun hailing from a Punjabi family, discovered his passion for the culinary arts at an early age. This fervor was ignited by his grandmother and the rich culinary customs of his family. He received his formal education at the prestigious St. Joseph’s Academy and later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts (BACA) from WGSHA, Manipal University.

Diwakar is a certified wine sommelier up to level 2. His professional journey began with ITC Hotels in India, where he gained valuable experience in the hospitality industry. He also pursued a specialization in Italian cuisine from the renowned Giovani Food Company. Additionally, he has acquired a bar course certification from the European Bar Tending School (EBS).

Most recently, Diwakar worked at the Grand Hyatt Washington DC in the United States, where he had the opportunity to work under the guidance of a Michelin-starred chef, honing his skills in fine dining.

Today, Chef Dhawan has embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, establishing his own multi-cuisine restaurant, “CURE – The Culinary Bar,” located on Canal Road. The establishment boasts a live sushi bar and a live pizza counter, serving authentic Neapolitan pizzas. CURE takes pride in offering authentic Indian cuisine, infused with Chef Dhawan’s signature touch, complemented by live music performances during weekends. Emphasizing quality and freshness, every item served at the restaurant, from buns to gulab jamun, is meticulously crafted in-house.
