In a news that has taken the internet by storm, villagers in Almora have hunted a 150 Kg fish which has now landed them in trouble.

This strange incident happened in Inlow village in Almora. While going about their daily fishing routine on the banks Ram Ganga river, few villagers caught hold of this gigantic fish. When they reeled it in and weighed it, they found to their delight that it was an incredulous 150 Kg. This is quite uncommon in this region and especially for a river fish.

Experts told the Himalayan Buzz team that, this is a Gouchh fish which is found in Ram Ganga but is quite rare. They were disappointed that the villagers chose to tie up the fish to a pole and let it die rather than save it. This species of fish serves an important role in the cleaning of the Ram Ganga river.

Taking note of the action, the forest authorities  headed by DFO S.R. Prajapati has initiated action against the villagers and have sent a team for investigation.
