Up Close and Personal with “Palampur Boy” Mohit Singh Parmar

Mohit Singh Parmar is a new name in the list of aspiring newcomers in acting. He was born on the 5th of Feb 1993 in a village called Nanaon near Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. He completed Engineering in 2014 from Sri Sai University Palampur and is a Btech Mechanical Engineer by profession. His father’s name is Atma Singh Parmar who is a distinguished police officer, his mother’s name is Loveleen Parmar who is a homemaker and Mohina Parmar is his sister who is at present pursuing a career in the city of Chandigarh.

Mohit has always been dedicated in his professional field as well but the desire of acting drove him always and this is the reason that he has always been very passionate in performing on stage ever since his university days. While in university, he acted as the main lead in a music video of Karnail Rana who is a very popular singer in Himachal Pradesh. He then had to take a halt from his acting career to focus on his academics. 

He made his comeback in acting again in 2015 and this time with an aim to live his passion as well as to lure the spectators with his acting skills. Mohit moved to Solan in 2015 in order to attend an acting workshop for a month to brush up his skills. The workshop was organized by Beyond Production and he then worked in a short film named “Mask vs Me” in association with Beyond Production. Trailing his first short film he then appeared in a number of remarkable films such as “Nath Bhajj” under Jai Mata Di production and a film named “Papa” under the production of Secret Corridor with Shimla Based filmmaker Siddharth Chauhan. He also made phenomenal screen presence on the short film “Friend Request” under Shimla Doordarshan and currently, he is working on a project with Frame box.

 In a personal insight, Mohit has revealed that initially his parents were in dilemma regarding his acting career because showbiz is real tough these days and making a mark on the industry requires much of luck than hard work but as soon as he started getting roles in various projects and his short films started generating huge amount of hits on YouTube, his parents became quite sure of his capabilities. He also mentioned that his journey to stardom would not have been an easy affair without his parent's support and encouragement and he will definitely work with all his dedication and sincerity to achieve his goals and bring pride to his family.
