Sagar is a well-known fashion model in the industry. He has worked with all major fashion designers & has been regular at all major fashion weeks. Himalayan Buzz Team recently interviewed him.
Tell us about your childhood, family, and education
I was born and brought up in Bulandshahar, UP. Talking about my childhood, I was an observant kid since starting, wondering about life and its mysteries.
I was more of a sportsperson rather than just an academic focussed student and I represented my state as a cricketer in the U-15 tournament in 2006 and 2007.
One night, I just sat with my elder brother figuring what I wanted to do with my life after quitting cricket due to certain circumstances and the conclusion of our discussion led me to my passion – being a fashion model.
I soon shifted to Delhi, took admission in B.com in DU, and started hustling for my goal simultaneously.
How did you get into Modeling?
My elder brother Rohit Kapoor inspired me to become a Model. I had grown up looking at him. The way he would dress up, his walking style, body language, and it intrigued me. I wanted to be like him and that’s how my journey towards Modeling started.
How did you get your first break in the Industry?
I got my pictures done when I came to Delhi in 2010. Started hustling while studying at Delhi University. Took up a part-time job in Fashion Publication House. I gained insights into how the Industry works. Started giving auditions and luckily within a short span of time, I bagged a Campaign for U.N.I.C.E.F in 2011 and there is no looking back since then.
What are the main jobs you have done so far?
I take great pride in saying that I have walked for all the top-notch designers of our country. Tarun Tahiliani, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Shantanu & Nikhil, Rohit Gandhi+Rahul Khanna, Ashish N Soni to name a few in all the major Fashion Weeks like India Fashion Week, India Couture Week, Lakme Fashion Week; etc.
And I have done campaigns and TV Ads for Lakme, Blenders Pride, BlackBerrys, Hanes, Siddartha Tytler; etc.
Also, I have been a part of ‘Sadda Haq’ Season 1 for Channel V where I played the role of a Professor. It has been my favorite acting project so far.

Who is your favorite designer?
All are my favorites but if I have to name one then Ashish N Soni it is. Love his sense of tailoring and the sharpness that he brings to his silhouette.
What are you currently obsessed with/about?
Right now I am crazy about Music. I am also a Singer and a Guitarist. Mostly into western music.
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?
The best advice that I have got is from my Spiritual Master Sadhguru – “Never Complain About Anything”. Whatever happens in your life – good or bad, you are responsible for it and not somebody else. I live by this every day and I have made myself in such a way that I am always a part of the solution, not the problem.
Your future goals?
I aspire to become a full-fledged actor and a musician in the future. Let’s see where my will is gonna take me.
