Born and brought up in the cultural Capital of Kumaon, Almora, Roop Durgapal did her graduation in engineering but earned name and fame in the glamorous acting industry. Roop was born in Almora on 15th October 1988. After finishing off with her schooling, Roop took admission in Graphic Era University, Dehradun.
Roop earned the degree of Instrumentation and Control Engineering in Btech from Graphic Era University. After her graduation,Roop joined the renowned company Infosys as a software engineer. But after a few days of her job, Roop took a step to accomplish her dream of coming on television due to which she left Infosys. Roop finally entered the television glamor world and became a famous face amongst the people.

Roop gave a start to her acting career through a Doordarshan show. After this, Roop appeared in the famous investigative show, CID. Roop had also acted in shows like 'Babosa' and 'Haunted Nights'. But the girl received her real name through the character of 'Saachi' in a Color's show, Balika Vadhu.
Balika Vadhu is amongst the most viewed shows of India and Saachi's character in the show was praised in heights by her viewers. After Balika Vadhu,Roop also played roles in Baalveer and Akbar Birbal. Presently Roop is playing the negative role of Kavya Maheshvari in the Color's show,' 'Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur'
