India had a great start in the Under 19 World Cup 2018 winning against Australia. The match was a clear win for India with 100 runs. Amongst the highlights of the match, other than the winning score was Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He crossed the mark of 145 kmph bowling speed claiming three wickets. Wild pace bowling got him appreciation from the biggies of the cricket world. Bowling speed more than 145 kmph wasn’t a chance event and Nagarkoti maintained it throughout seven overs. In fact, he even reached bowling speed of 146 kmph during the match.
It is not the first time that Kamlesh has worked wonders for Indian cricket. In his first match, he knocked 10 wickets of England in the test match. He plays for the Rajasthan team. Sourabh Ganguli took to Twitter to praise the swing bowler. He mentioned, Virat Kohli and BCCI for keeping an eye on the bowler. Along with Kamlesh, he also praised Shivam Mavi who also took an equal number of wickets.
Before the U-19 World Cup in New Zealand, most people were talking about Prithvi Shaw and Shubham Gill. However, post the first victory the only name you hear is Kamlesh Nagarkoti. It is surprising that under 19 players are reaching a speed that their senior counterparts rarely ever do. India suffered lack of fierce bowlers and the near future might have that fulfilled. Kamlesh’s delivery of 146.8 kmph was the fastest of the day. Australia had a target of 329 which became shady after Nagarkoti dismissed Max Bryant. Virendra Sehwag also praised the boys for their smashing pace. The teenager is the first ever Rajasthan bowler to get a List A hattrick.
Family and kins in Uttarakhand are celebrating their lad’s victory just like the entire nation glued to TV screens. Kamlesh basically hails from Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. Unfortunately, Ishan Porel has suffered an injury and thus Kamlesh has to shoulder a bigger responsibility now.
