Gaurav Kathania was born on the 17th of July 1994 in Shimla and he did his initial schooling from Ner Chowk and completed higher education from Mahavir Public School Sunder Nagar. Ner Chowk is a beautiful town between Mandi and Sunder Nagar and is very much enchanting. He has always been very passionate about playing the guitar and after 12th standard, he initiated to learn guitar from Atul Mittal who is the founder member of Silk Route band.

Music has always been in his roots as his brother is also into music and he wanted to join his brother’s band “SHABD” in Shimla. He then moved to Shimla for pursuing Btech in Civil Engineering while he also did some live performances with his brother. His parents Keshav Ram Kathania and Sheela Kathania are both working in Life Insurance Corporation of India and his brother Saurabh Kathania is pursuing Mtech from Jaypee University Shimla and is also focusing on his music career. His brother has come up with some of his original compositions.

He was also very bulky and heavy in his 1st year of graduation and that was the time when he started the workout. In order to modify his look he started doing some high-intensity workouts, runs 5 km every day on the mountains of Shimla and the results of his strenuous hard work are now notable. He then started modelling and participated in the Mr Himachal contest. After qualifying semifinals for top 20 he had his grooming sessions of 5 days. All his hard works, GD rounds, workouts, challenges, dance rehearsals and ramp walks paid off when he bagged the title of Mr Himachal second runner-up.

After this, he focused on his academics as well as modelling . Initially this year, he gave a break to his modelling career as he wanted to clear the IES exam. He said modelling is more of his passion than a mere money making venture. His dream is to appear on the cover page of Men’s Health Magazine. Apart from this he also has an interest in acting, dance and kickboxing. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours and kudos to his efforts.
