Dehradun Photography Festival a six-day photography festival was inaugurated on 4th March. Dehradun Photography Festival 2017 had two underlying themes ‘Professional Photography’ and ‘Women through the lens’.
The inauguration ceremony had a beautiful performance by young artists of the Divine Sanity band. Women members of cultural organizations, beautifully dressed in traditional Uttarakhandi outfits brought color and frolic along with them.
Jyotsana Sharma, daughter of Ex-Chief Minister Nityanand Swami, herself a social activist and politician was the chief guest at the Dehradun Photography Festival 2017. Along with her Vinayak Sharma Swami, grandson of Ex-Chief Minister Nityanand Swami and a young social activist was also a chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.
The jury was composed of the most well-known photographers Bhumesh Bharti and Sudarshan Juyal.Mrs. India Earth finalist Kamika Chaudhary was also a part of the Jury of the Dehradun Photography Festival 2017. The fourth member of the jury was photographer Amit Khera. The jurors were presented with the toughest decision-making which they took after hours of negotiations. The results will be declared on 8th March after the Dehradun Photography Festival 2017 concludes. The winners will get holiday packages from Holiday Xpress for destinations Goa, Munnar, and Ooty.
Other guests at Dehradun Photography Festival 2017 were social activists Shashi Raturi & Vipin Raturi. Naman Gupta the owner of the sponsor of Dehradun Photography Festival 2017 ‘Solitaire Group’ was also present.
The owner of Holiday Xpress another sponsoring group, Pratyush Pandy too attended the event. S. K. Tripathi CEO of Sakar India Pvt LTD, CEO Enovabiz Solutions Aniruddha Badola, and CEO, and photographer of fotopandit.com Gokul Papola were other eminent names adding to the guest list of Dehradun Photography Festival 2017. Abhay Sharma, founder, and owner of Pahadi House who sponsored the event and prizes for winners also came for the inauguration ceremony.
