It is expected that by the month of August the flight service from Dehradun to Patanagar will start off. The state Aviation has signed the MOU along with centre authorities. Deccan Air services have applied for a license from DGCA to provide the flight service by their franchise. As soon as they get a license from DGCA the other formalities for the process will be completed.

The central government had started a scheme to provide low fare flight services to the local people. Under the scheme, flights have started flying on new routes with a low fare. For the same cause, Deccan Airways forwarded a proposal to start flight services between Dehradun and Patanagar. The formalities are being completed and work is going on for starting the local flight services. Though the proposed schedule for the start of these flight is August, it is anticipated that there can be a delay.

For now, the flights from Nainisaini will not operate. After the examination of the parameters, DGCA pointed out some changes. Once they are done then flights will operate from there too. The citizen’s aviation department has sent a proposal to center to include Chinyalisaud in the flight destinations. But the runway at Chinyalisaud is narrow and so only small aircrafts can land there. Thus it has not been included in the scheme.
