Amit Garg’s journey from a small village near the Shakumbhari Devi temple to leading a multi-location printing business reflects steady determination shaped by discipline and consistency. Raised in Behat, he studied in government schools where access to resources was limited. After Class 10, he cycled nearly nine kilometres daily to attend the only science school in a nearby village. With no exposure to cinema halls or extracurricular facilities, Garg’s early life revolved around cricket and academics. Encouraged by teachers for his aptitude in mathematics, he set his sights on engineering.
He went on to complete a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from NIT Kurukshetra, an institution that admits students through highly competitive entrance examinations. The experience reinforced structure, resilience, and focus. After graduation, Garg spent eight years in the corporate sector, including time in Bengaluru. The demands of constant travel eventually led him to reassess his priorities, particularly the time he wanted to spend with his family.
In November 2002, he returned to Uttarakhand and founded Om Color Creations. The business began with a single design unit and gradually expanded into film processing before adopting computer-to-plate technology. Today, Om Color Creations operates across Dehradun, Roorkee, and Haridwar, serving clients in the pharmaceutical and packaging sectors.
The early years were marked by financial uncertainty and operational setbacks. With limited capital and support from Shivalik Bank, Garg built the business step by step. Persistence and a positive outlook helped him navigate repeated challenges at a time when entrepreneurship was still an unconventional choice.
Alongside business, Garg has developed a parallel career in acting and media. His work includes the film PM Narendra Modi with Vivek Oberoi, The Taj Story with Paresh Rawal, Jeet Ki Zidd with Amit Sadh and Sushant Singh, Hum Aur Tum with Jimmy Shergill, and Riwaj with Mithun Chakraborty. He has also featured in a T-Series music video with Jubin Nautiyal and in campaigns for Weather.com and Mall of Dehradun, along with several celebrity podcasts
Looking ahead, he plans to expand into Haldwani and explore collaborations within the film industry. His focus remains on sustainable growth, professional reinvention, and maintaining close ties with his family.
