Another athletic blast from Dehradun Mr. Aman Rai Vohra displayed his feat of strength in Strongman India League held at Miramar Beach, Panaji, Goa on 27th May 2018 in 90 Kg class, qualifying for the world strongman competition to be held in Finland in August.
It is a proud moment for Doon valley, the ‘Mountain Bull’ did it again out of an approx number of 40 contestants. He pushed his way on to the pedestal of an international event sharing the platform with just one other person from all over the nation.
The event was organized in Goa for the first time by Strongman India League and Vinsan World. Every category saw a series of energetic competition amongst the participants that gave the final winners in the weightlifting sport.
Not only men but women too took part and emerged victorious in their categories.
Winners in the 75 kg men category were Davendra Pratap Singh, Narottam Sharma, and Shivam Tiwari in first, second and third place. Aman Rai Vohra came third in the 90 Kg Men’s category but qualified for the Finland championship. Deepak Yadav and Rameshwar Singh were the consecutive winners in the same category ahead of him. The open category had Vikram Poghat on the first place, Lalit Yadav second and Raghavendra S H third.
Their women counterparts saw Priyanka Vaishya as the 75 kg winner and Archana Chauhan 2nd in the same category. Isha Singh won the 80 kg category. In the Opens, Suhani Gandhi came first followed by Tukhti Khan. Guest of honor Rohan Khaunte and Sanjay Shetye felicitated the winners.
Working his way up to his current success he took part in a variety of events like Viking Press, Atlas stone, Car Deadlift etc. Throughout his journey, he has been testing and challenging various feats of strength.
Aman Rai Vohra has achieved international acclamation for his excellence in sports. He had won a bronze medal in Arnold classic Amateur Strongman Asia last year 2017 in Hong Kong. A few years back in 2016 he had pushed himself to the top 12 Rank in World Strongman champions League, Finland.
In the same year, 2016, he won another award, a Gold Medal in the Subrata classic International Deadlift.
Aman’s legacy continued, winning 3 consecutive times, gold medals in the Uttarakhand state powerlifting championships.
Last year he came at the fifth position in National powerlifting champion, 2017.
