Uttarakhand’s Lakshya Sen has become the World No. 1 junior badminton player. Hailing from Almora, Uttarakhand, Lakshya is the latest shuttler from this tiny hill state to make his mark. Already, Siril Verma and Aditya Joshi have earned accolades for their badminton exploits. Lakshya had won a bronze medal in Junior Asian Championship last year. He is also the winner of U-19 tournaments in Switzerland and Denmark.

Lakshya will be facing a stiff challenge at Junior World Championships to be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Lakshya’s elder brother Chirag is also a badminton player.
