Aman Bansal’s approach to education leadership is shaped by a blend of global exposure and strong institutional grounding. An alumnus of IIM Kashipur and a graduate of Jain University, Bengaluru, his early academic years at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom reinforced the value of India’s education system and social ethos. Schooled at Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun, Bansal developed a disciplined outlook early on. Competitive sport played an equally formative role. As a state captain in skating for nine consecutive years and a national-level medalist, he learnt teamwork, resilience, and leadership beyond the classroom.

Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University was formally established in September 2021 through an Act of the Uttarakhand State Government, building on the 21-year legacy of the Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions founded in 2005 by Sanjay Bansal. Located on a 42-acre campus in the Himalayan foothills, the university today offers over 120+ degree programmes across 11 schools, spanning engineering, management, healthcare, design, agriculture, architecture, mass communication, hospitality, and emerging disciplines such as aerospace and aviation.

Bansal joined the institution in 2015, leading training and placements as Associate Director. In 2017, he assumed the role of Managing Director, overseeing strategy and operations alongside the chairman. With the transition to university status, he took charge as Vice President, supporting decisions across academics, finance, research, infrastructure, admissions, and administration.

His focus has been on outcome-based education, experiential learning, and skill development. Key initiatives include paperless systems, research-led academic culture, startup programmes, and practice-oriented teaching models. Bansal is clear that education must remain a public service, accessible across economic backgrounds.

Looking ahead, his priorities include national and international accreditations, global recognition, and aligning individual student aspirations with the university’s long-term vision. The objective remains consistent: building an institution that combines academic credibility with social purpose.
