In a city where cafes and fusion menus often steal the spotlight, Tirupati Madras Dosa brings it back to the basics. The kind that matter. Crisp dosas, steaming idlis, strong filter coffee and sambhar that speaks for itself.
Started in April 2024 by Pankaj Sati, the restaurant may be new to Dehradun’s food scene, but its flavours are deeply rooted in tradition. Within months, it earned the title of ‘Best Restaurant for South Indian Cuisine’ at the Dehradun Food Awards 2025. That win says a lot. So does the queue outside on weekends.
The menu is everything you’d expect from a good South Indian. Think plain dosas that snap at the edges, Mysore dosas with just the right hit of heat, buttery ghee roasts and rava variations packed with crunch and flavour. The Paneer Masala Dosa is a local favourite. The Rava Onion Masala is also a must-try.
For those who like to start their day early, there’s a full-fledged breakfast menu. Idli vada, uttapams, filter coffee, and even chole bhature for when you want to mix things up. Nothing fancy. Just solid, well-made food that does what it’s supposed to.
What makes Tirupati Madras Dosa stand out is its honesty. No overdone interiors, no complicated plating. Just warm service, clean tables, and food that reminds you of why simple always wins.
If you’re craving something familiar, comforting and full of flavour, this might just be your new go-to.
